SYC Lending Library

Did you know that SYC owns over 100 books that our members can borrow? The books cover topics from boat buying and building to navigational guides and even some fascinating stories about boating adventures.

Click here to view a list all of our books in a spreadsheet. The titles are roughly organized by subject on different tabs and alphabetically on each tab. Click the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to see all of the lists.

For those of you who prefer to browse in person, there's a printout of the book lists on top of the bookshelves in the southeast corner of the lounge. You can also browse through the physical books on those shelves. The books aren't in any particular order, but you should be able to find what you're looking for.

When you find a book you'd like to borrow, please enter the book title, author/publisher, the date you're taking the book, and your name and member number in the check-out sheet on top of the bookcase. You can borrow books for as long as you want (especially if you need them while cruising for a while) and then bring them back when you can. There's no official time limit on borrowing, but please do bring them back when you're done, so someone else can borrow them next. Please enter the date you return each book, so everyone knows it's available again. If you're looking for a book that's on the list but can't find it on the shelf, you can look at the check-out list and contact the borrower to see if they're done with it.

At the moment, there is no club librarian, so this is a self-sustaining system. Please take responsibility for keeping the books neat and the check-out sheet up-to-date. Enjoy!
